You all have had the experience of your shoelace coming untied. I initially learned the wrong way of doing it until my father showed me the technique he had learned while cadying on the golf course. During his college years at Western Michigan, Fred had taken a cadying job at the local golf course. In those days there were no golf carts. While walking the course, he was always having to pause, stoop down, and retie his shoelaces which would frequently come untied. But, one day one of the golfers taught him the trick of the shoestring knot that would not come untied. He passed this lore on to me and I have greatly benefited from it. I am happy to share it with anyone who wishes to learn, but such things are conveyed better in person, not over the internet. |
